Environment Agency – Dust Events

#EpsomChalk – There was another Dust Event on Longdown Lane North, Epsom this week, on 28th and 29th April. The worst dust event for about 2 months. There was also a lot of noise from operations at the Chalk Pit, College Road, Epsom. The two pictures are of a car that had been valet cleaned a week before the dust event.

Logging of major issues with Environment Agency is important. Please see the reply below for Incident Reference Number: 1930767.

Thank you for your email. We are grateful for the information you have provided regarding dust. It will be sent to the team who deal with these types of reports and have knowledge of the area. They will consider what action, if any, is appropriate.

The Environment Agency’s priority is to deal with reports that present a high or significant risk to the environment. We will collate this with other evidence and intelligence we may have already gathered to help us understand where these high and significant risks are. This means we are unable to guarantee if an officer will attend at this time.

Please report this if it happens again or changes so that we can continue to build our intelligence. This information is valuable and helps us to make the right decisions for the environment and the local community.

Kind regards,

Kathryn Foers
